| Stardust Dragon (Dragon/Synchro/Effect, 8 Stars, Wind, 2500 ATK/2000 DEF)
You can Tribute this card to negate the activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster's effect that destroys a card(s) on the field, and destroy that card. If you negate an effect this way, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard during the End Phase.
This Card is proving to be one of the most powerful cards in the Meta today. Why? It is an out to Mirror Force, Torrential Tribute, Lightning Vortex... basically any non Counter-Trap Card that destroys monsters.
Because of that it is very useful.
However, how do you get rid of it when you see it on your opponent's side of the field, apart from having a face-down Solemn Judgment?
To me, there are three ways to get rid of it:
-Returning it to the hand or Deck. Compulsory Evacuation Device and Phoenix Wing Wind Blast are two very powerful cards that can forcefully reject your opponent's Stardust Dragon. -Removing it from play. Dimensional Prison gets rid of it outright, however using Mirror Force, and when they activate Stardust's effect to put it in the Graveyard, sending D.D. Crow from your hand out of the game does the same job. -Using the only card that Stardust Dragon cannot negate: Snipe Hunter.
But why can't Stardust Dragon remove itself to pay for Snipe Hunter destroying something, you ask? Snipe Hunter counts on a dice roll in order to work. If the dice roll is a 1 or 6, it doesn't destroy. In addition, Snipe Hunter's effect would resolve before Stardust Dragon could even add itself to the chain.
Hope you enjoyed it! I'll be sure to post more articles!
